HerStory is a collection of short stories and flash fiction from twenty-seven female authors of diverse backgrounds from all over the world. Their stories celebrate the women of our past with powerful female protagonists, fighting for themselves and what they believe in. Some of the stories are true while others are based on real-life events from human history. All of the stories were written to celebrate our female ancestors and inspire a new generation of strong women.
Editor Chevrestt came up with the idea for this anthology in early January. Together with Mroczka, they sourced the thirty-one stories included in the collection in less than two months.
More information about the contributors and stories included in the book can be found on the HerStory anthology blog—www.herstoryanthology.blogspot.com.
About Tara Chevrestt
Chevrestt is a deaf woman, former aviation mechanic, writer, and an editor. She is most passionate about planes, motorcycles, dogs, and above all, reading. That led to her love of writing. Between her writing and her editing, which allows her to be home with her little canine kids, she believes she has the greatest job in the world. She is very happily married.
Tara also writes as Sonia Hightower. Sonia writes the racy stuff and argues that she was here first. She just wasn’t allowed to be unleashed until the last year.
They both agree, however, that strong is sexy, and they don’t write the average, simpering damsel. They write about women who see what they want and obtain it.
While Tara and Sonia continue to fight over the laptop and debate who writes the next book, you can find buy links, blurbs, and other fun bits on their website (http://tarachevrestt.weebly.com/index.html).
About Angelique Mroczka
Angelique Mroczka wasn’t one of those children who dreamed of becoming a writer. In fact, thanks to a poor English teacher in grade school, she detested it and only pursued academic writing for much of her first twenty-five years of life. It wasn’t until she found herself on the Pagan path in 2004 that she discovered a talent that had been there the whole time, hiding beneath the surface.
In 2009, Angie founded the Pagan Writers Community, an organization that is dedicated to providing educational, promotional, and networking opportunities to alternative-faith writers. 2011 brought about Pagan Writers Press and the first two Pagan Writers Presents Sabbat anthologies. She is currently working on a nonfiction book about spiritual writing and a number of fictional short stories.
Angie lives in Houston, Texas with her infant son (know widely as Dash), husband Scott, and an adorable Chihuahua mix named Evy. She originally wanted to be an astronaut when she grew up, but has settled on writing about them instead.
